Type: Weapon, Katana/Sword.
Equipment Significance: It's Kira's only weapon and will be used to fight off anyone who challenges him or stands in his way. It does not matter much to Kira if it is destroyed.
Description:

Appearance:

Yamato is a katana with an ornate bronze guard. It has the traditional gold wrapping, with black ornaments, and the Tsuba ("Guard"). The scabbard is black, made of traditional lacquered wood, and features several metallic ornaments on its far end. Despite having a scabbard, Yamato is only occasionally worn on the waist but Kira preferably just handles it with his hand while traveling or in battle. It's about 2 feet, 8 inches long while the width is half an inch (2 centimeters?).

Strengths:

• Speed - Because of it's small width and length it can be slashed multiple times in rapid succession.
  
• Mobility - As said before, the length and width of the blade allows it to be handled easily. Meaning easier mobility.
  

Weaknesses:

• Metal - It's made out of basic iron meaning it could be shattered, bent, or simply destroyed easily.
  
• Strength - Since it's so light, it doesn't pack much of a punch. Mostly from the fact that too much strength put into a slash can destroy the blade itself.
