Task Title: Last Piece of Equipment

Task Location: Marine Branch -37,
Task Description: Between a regular day in the Marine Branch -37, Hiroko and the Professor Mr. Chao are arrested. While marines do not say much to Hiroko, he must talk to Mr. Chao to understand the situation.

"That should be it, I have completed all your extremities. I guess next time we can start working on your chest." The bright light blocking Hiroko's view turned away, allowing him to straitly see the face of the speaking man. The man was old, had white and spiky hair and was not exactly that of a tall or strong man. Hiroko stood up from the leaning operation chair and used his right arm to gently feel his opposite left one. "It feels better than the first arm. I guess I'll have to take it for a spin." Said Hiroko as he turned towards the old man. The room was gray and had only medical pieces in the center as well as some metallic parts the operation chair. There was only one light. It was hanging above the chair and projected some shadows around the room. Hiroko was standing only a few feet from the old man and so the shadows projected were quite precise in size, revealing the man's little size, at least compared to that of Hiroko's. "Let's go Hiro, we have to talk about your arm." Said the man as both males left the room and turned off the only light in the room.

As they moved to the next room, the light illuminated their faces and cleared their eyes. They both sat down in opposite seats divided by a little wooden table. This room was cozier than the last one and was painted with light blue colors to make it feel more welcoming. "Hiroko, your arm has completely been changed for that of a metallic individual, in other words, a cyborg. Recapping your progress, your arms, legs, and respiratory system have been changed for robotic parts. How are you feeling." The man started to speak just after he took out a little Moshi Moshi to record everything they said. "My body feels perfect professor, plus the rejection for this new arm was completely null." Said Hiroko quite seriously. The man gave the Moshi Moshi a little pat on the head for it to stop recording and stood up. Silence filled the room for a brief moment before the man took a deep breath and laughed loudly. "Bahahahaha I love it when we go this serious with the recordings." Hiroko started laughing as well to join the professor's laugh rampage. "I know right! Its fun as hell." They kept laughing for a few minutes and then stopped letting a sigh out.

"Anyway, I can't believe we are finally done with that, what do you think about your new arm?" Asked the professor. "Of course, thank again Mr. Chao, I appreciate these weapons." Mr. Chao stood up and laughed. "No Hiroko, thank you for letting me do my procedures in your body. Now, we should return to doing our work. Would you mind going to the food deposit for potatoes, I need them for an experiment." Hiroko stood up and laughed as well. "Of course professor, I'll go grab some, but I'll be back in like an hour, gotta do some stuff first." Hiroko then left the room with the professor's approval and gently closed the door with his new arm. He was in the research and medical areas. The hallways were quite big for movement to be allowed in case of an emergency and most of the walls were completely white. Hiroko was never really a fan of such colors for a whole hallway, however; he still had to walk around that place all the time. He had been in such base for almost a year, but he still felt like an intruder. Maybe because he was not even an official marine and just Chao's assistant.

Hiroko stepped to his right and started to walk down the hall, but just a few steps after closing his door, a squad of five marines ran towards him and stopped him with an open palm. "Mr. Hiroko, you are under arrest for treason and multiple other charges." Hiroko's surprise was only kept for himself and limited himself to knocking his head for good luck. He had not committed treason so he had nothing to worry about. It was most likely a mistake so he did not care if he was taken for a few hours or even days. In fact, it was an excuse for him not to do his chores. Two marines took Hiroko, the other three entered the professor's room. Again, Hiroko decided to do nothing and just roll with it, this was most likely a mistake and resisting would mean even more trouble. The professor's arrest, however; was kept as a mystery for Hiroko, he did not know how did the procedure go, but it was only a matter of time to understand what was happening. Hiroko was taken to the cell room where he was placed in an empty cell. He was hoping to have some company, but the only thing he had was a hard old bed and a tiny toilet.

A few hours passed before hearing any movement throughout the cell room. Hiroko was almost the only person there and it turned out to be quieter than he expected. The first sound he heard after getting himself in a comfortable crouching position to wait and maybe even sleep a little was Mr. Chao entering the cell room. He was being escorted by a marine who gently let him walk to Hiroko's cell. "We will now proceed to the discussion board. We'll come as soon as we make a decision." The marine left the room leaving mentor and mentee together. Hiroko knew they were not actually coming back just after a decision was made. No one ever did such thing. But that was not his concern either, he just wanted to know what was happening. "Professor, mind explaining what is happening?" The professor sat on the only bed in the cell and looked at Hiroko. "Well, the truth is I have been stealing information and technology from the marines. Some parts of your body have actually been stolen." Hiroko was actually quite surprised, he had never stopped to think were did those pieces come from. "So you're saying you're going to jail because of me?" The old man laughed at Hiroko's question. "No, you dumb ass, it's not always about you. Bahaha." The man almost fell from the bed as he laughed in front of Hiroko's face. "Nah, it's not your fault. The information I was getting was being sold to some bad people. Hehe." The old man took his right hand to the back of his head as he stopped laughing. Silence overruled the place again, nothing could be heard. But only after a few seconds, both of them started to laugh again. "Bahahaha, you're so stupid, professor!" Said Hiroko. "I know right! Bahaha." They kept laughing and talking about all the illegal things they did. But a last instruction was also given to Hiroko. "Oh, by the way, don't let them know you're a cyborg."

Another couple of hours passed before a guard came to the cell room with new instructions. The guard walked to the cell where both scientist and experiment were resting. "Hiroko, please come with us." Hiroko was just getting up when his mentor spoke. "They are going to release you because you're not guilty, they won't kill me but I'll stay here so, leave this place and see the world. You know what you've been made for." The message was just whispered strong enough for Hiroko to barely hear. The guard, on the other hand, did not understand a single bit of such message, but then again, it was not anything he cared about knowing. Hiroko left the cell room without looking behind, he did not really care about such goodbye. Both the professor and Hiroko lived with no real affection towards people, meaning goodbyes were not a thing they cared about or felt sorry for. Hiroko, since he was not a marine, was sent out of the base in a ship. The boat's destiny was none other than harvest island. An island dedicated to crops and whiskey. But this next stop was not only that but was also the start for one of the future most savage pirates in the world.
