Standing at roughly 5'8" in height, Anton Lacroix is one that could be considered more beautiful than handsome. With a slim, yet well muscled frame (normally hidden beneath his clothing, he has rather soft facial feature and large, expressive brown eyes. His red hair is coiled up into buns on either side of his head, almost giving the impression of roses.

In terms of dress, Anton is rather refined. A red undershirt with gold trimming, over it he wears a dark green overcoat with gold cufflinks and epoulettes, a white collar and red on the inside. He wears a pair of form fitting white pants, brown knee high boots, and a pair of white gloves. He sometimes wears a wide brimmed green hat with a pair of white feathers tucked into the band.

Personality: Poor Anton Lacroix has become a nervous wreck. A year of very, VERY hard training has left the poor man a stuttering, twitchy mess. The man's constantly nervous and jumping at his own shadow. However, the training has made Anton a loyal marine, willing to do any job, mainly out of fear of what would happen if he refuses. He laments his place in the marines, but feels like he has no other option but to obey. He has memorized marine protocol and the laws, and is always looking for loopholes to avoid having to follow orders.

Beneath that shaken, timid demeanor beats the gentle heart of an artist. All he wants in life is to find a wife, start a family and run his family's inn. He's a kind, gentle man, able to appreciate the beauty of things. There's nothing he'd love more is to simply have a cup of tea and enjoy the scenery. He's a good man and would help out if he could, but he feel's he's not the guy best suited for handling a crisis.

He possesses a surprising amount of business sense, able to pick out when he's getting overcharged, or if he's getting a bargain. He tends to get shy around the fairer sex.

Character History:
Anton's life had started out simple enough. The Lacroix family owned a rather successful inn on Water 7, and with his elder brother Basil in line to inherit the place, Anton was normally left to his devices. Then, on his 16th birthday, Basil decided to enlist in the marines, leaving Anton to be the one in line for the inn. His parents taught him the inns and outs of the business, and while Anton was a shy young man, he seemed to grasp it pretty well. Meanwhile, his elder brother made a name for himself amongst the marines, and soon tales of his exploits reached his family. Anton's parents were so proud.

Then, when Anton was nineteen, it all came apart.

Basil had been killed out in the New World by a pirate. His parents were devestated by the loss, but furthermore, the family had lost the prestige they were used to getting from their child. They decided then that Anton should follow in his brother's footsteps and join the marines. However, Anton never considered himself marine material. He was an artist, not a fighter! However, he also couldn't say no, and this was no exception.

And so Anton was enlisted in the marines.

Training went as well as could be expected. Anton did terribly, and one would have expected him to be discharged and sent home in disgrace. However, Anton just had the bad luck of having an instructor who staunchly refused to let any cadet fail under his training. He pulled Anton aside and put him through some hellish training. If Anton lagged, he would be punished brutally. By the end of it, Anton was running on pure fear, throwing everything he had into his tasks out of fear of what would happen if he didn't.

But, it at least worked. Anton was able to pass the training, despite the psychological scars it left on the young man. Now formally in the marines, he was sent off down to the Blues.
