Subject: Kitaro of Loguetown Thu Sep 28, 2017 3:55 am
Full Name: Kitaro Alias/Epithet: Rogue-Sword Age: 28 Gender: Male Race: Human Sexuality: Straight/Heterosexual Origin: East Blue Affiliation: Pirate
General Appearance: Kitaro goes to great efforts to maintain a very form appearance, typically wearing black in respect to the tragedies of the world, after befalling one of his own. This varies between two levels of formality as far as clothing goes, the first being the more casual. This variation of his appearance dons a long open front black coat and nothing else on his chest, though occassionally this is supplemented by a ruffled white shirt. In the more formal variation of his clothing he does indeed wear a shirt constantly in the form of a very formal and crisp dark grey, nearly black silk shirt with a black suit on top of this. Equipped on top of this with a red tie. Beyond this there are some similar elements that occur regardless of what style of clothing he is wearing at the moment. The most notable of these is his wide brimmed hat with a feathered plume. Additionally his black boots and pants of the same color are a staple of his general appearance.
Hair Color: Black Eye Color: Gold Skin Tone: White/Caucasian Height: 6'6" Weight: 225 lbs. Tattoo: Central Back
Personality:Kitaro is almost always a calm and collected man. It is a trait that he prides himself on as well as what he is generally known for in regard to his reputation. It is the founding block of his entire personality to put it fairly. While the woman that he will one day marry, his finacee that is considered entirely to already be his wife, is the soul of his existence. His ability to maintain a level head is what ended up saving the two of their lives and gave them the chance to resist the forces that took their son away from them. While Daenys would take the encounter and her inability to act against the loss of their son much more internally. As a result of his having to keep a cool head to preserve the lives of his family, he repressed a great deal of his emotions and feelings in regard to what happened in front of the both of them. Losing their son and watching their child, still a child, dragged away before them left him only the option to allow himself and his love to sacrifice themselves for nothing or seal everything up inside of him to keep the anger and rage down. A result of this being that Kitaro finds it difficult to express emotions about most things and when reaching an emotional level, an overload of the experienced emotion can occur driving him crazy with the feeling that has caught him off guard enough to be experienced. These outbursts are usually incredibly socially awkward and Kitaro relies on Daenys to maintain her normal and kinder side to lull him back to a restrained state of mind. Daenys being the greatest motivation to his life and someone whom he could never deny the wishes of or see suffer through pains as he has seen her go through before. Innate in his very soul is the desire to protect and be with her, as she is his reason for all of his actions after they united and as their son became both of their reasons ever after.
Kitaro is very analytical in the long term and short term. It is his goal in the long term to save his son and marry Daenys Seastar. This is his ultimate goal in life, for the world to be right enough again for the both of them and with their son to be able to marry in peace. In regard to this. The thing that gives him the greatest motivation in life toward seeking out revenge and acting against the world government, his motivation for taking up sword against the greatest power in the world, is to be able to restore his family and live that life once more. Ultimately he is a man who fights to be able to stop fighting one day and enjoy the life that he left. However, this is also the cause of the greatest conflict in his life. That being whether or not it is worth the risk that comes to all of their lives by spending it fighting the World Government rather than simply fighting to restore their family. On one end of that spectrum Kitaro would not be able to live with himself knowing that other families will be forced to go through losing their children, fathers, mothers, wives, and husbands to the Celestial Dragons and Government. However, Kitaro is also aware that maintaining that fight to the finish can only end in the death of himself, his wife, and their son or the end of the World Government and thus sacrifice the lifetimes or lives of his family to achieve it. He often questions whether or not he is fighting for others, for himself, for his family, or for nothing.
Calm Environments: Kitaro prefers to be in locations that are not chaotic or all-out battlefields, even in combat he seeks the calmest position that he can place himself in. He prefers an area that has as few distractions as possible to plan, analyze, and think about the world, life, and his position in what is going on in the short and long term.
Familial Experiences: Nothing matters to more in life to Kitaro than that of the time that he spends with those he considers his family. He treasures the memories that he got to spend with his son and he cherishes the moments that he gets with Daenys, especially those that are actually peaceful that they can enjoy one another. It is a treasure to Kitaro to be able to actually relax and enjoy life with his family, as rare as those moments have become.
Problem Solving: Whether this is coming up with a weakness to an enemy or figuring out a way to overcome an obstacle in life, Kitaro enjoys the challenge of being presented with a problem. The act of challenging one's mind means much more to Kitaro than the act of challenging his body. The more difficult the puzzle or the challenge or the quicker on his feet he is required to think to get through or survive, the more excited he gets about the whole ordeal.
Dislikes:
Slavery: This was something that Kitaro always considered himself as lucky to have not ended up. Having been a vagrant of a child growing up in a location that had passing nobility, royalty, and marine presence it was always looming. The dark shadow and threat of the world that could take him away in the night. And when his child was taken from right in front of him and thrown into the bonds of slavery instead, Kitaro's mind raged at the very idea. It was as if the world was punishing him for not becoming a slave by taking his child and while he blames himself, he hates those who partake in the business.
The World Government: The World Government represents everything that has ever stood between Kitaro and what he wanted out of life. When he was a child it was the presence of the marines that kept him from reaching that last step to be totally free. As an adult it was the World Government that stole his child from him and ruined his chance at a family life eternally, forcing him to take up sword and become a world force to be able to topple a system and spend his life doing so.
Wasting Time: After the kidnapping and forced enslavement of his son, Kitaro spent every moment of his life training, speaking with others, searching for ways to strike out into the sea to begin the quest to take revenge, save his son, and topple the system that stole him. Anything that causes him to lose any substantial amount of time and keep him away from his family or keep him distracted from reaching his ultimate goals as described before are greatly disliked and are huge annoyances to Kitaro.
Motivations: The overall motivation for Kitaro is to right the wrong that was done to his family and bring his son back into their family. However, having experienced this wrong done to him in the first place has changed his mind to seeking revenge by destroying the system that took his child from him and Daenys. Kitaro struggles between these two degrees of the same motivation and often questions himself over which one is that which he truly seeks. The return of his family and leaving the fight to restore life as a family, and the destruction of the system that caused him so much pain and destroyed his family in the first place so it could never occur again.
Fears:
Losing Daenys to her own rage and insanity. A fear that dominates Kitaro's mind any time that he sees her other side take over, the side that was born of the depression, raw emotion, rage, and frustration of having to watch their son taken away and forced into the bonds of slavery. It is something that plagues her on a regular basis and turns her into an entirely other person, and while this does not damage or cause any changes to Kitaro's feelings or love for her, every time that she falls into this state, Kitaro worries that he may not be able to calm her down back into the motherly and kind figure that he originally fell in love with.
Losing himself and Daenys to the fate of their son. It is probably Kitaro's greatest goal that in the effort to reclaim their son from the slavers and nobles of the world that have taken him, that Kitaro and Daenys would be captured. While it is his greatest fear that the two of them be enslaved and separated, as he is sure that Daenys would rage until she killed herself or was killed, it would absolutely ruin the family that he had so long spent his life working on, creating, and rededicated his life to the process of bringing back together.
Settling down in life before completing his goal. Kitaro knows that it is possible to lose sight of his goal, and while it is a horrible, horrible thought to let his son go. It is so very unlikely and so very hard to pursue a goal without any leads, only the most powerful, influential, and far reaching power in the world as a total enemy to go on. It is hard and Kitaro knows that the road, if not ending in death or capture, could easily lead to temptations to end the path or to stop for a time to wait for a better opportunity. All of which easily could turn into abandonment of Kitaro's goals and the loss of his respect for himself as a person in the future after.
Home Town: Loguetown Character History:
Spoiler:
Kitaro was raised in a rougher area of town and his parents didn't stay around him long enough for him to remember the last name that he was born with. It was a miracle that he was able to retain his birth name of Kitaro in all actuality and only done so because of the need for him to be called something. During this turbulent youth of his life he decided that it would one day be his honor to take the name of another and make a new family that would save his children in the future from suffering the same life on the street that he was born with. As he grew in this environment he quickly rose to prominance among the local lowlifes and he was generally regarded as some of the scum of the earth by the local authorities as well as the local marine presence. Though he was never so rash as to directly challenge the marines as a child.
This lifestyle of being a vagrant that lived entirely alone throughout his life and growing up led Kitaro to be naturally stronger than most others of his age and viewed as an intimidating force. The woman that he would eventually fall in love with would always avoid him along with most of the other girls, though they knew as well as the boys that Kitaro had earned his freedoms with sweat and blood. More than anything, at this stage in his life, it was this thought and this pride that drove him forward. He had only the goal of earning himself a name that he could consider noble in an honorable sort of way that concerned him until he and Daenys had a fateful encounter one day. It didn't seem like much, but it was a simple encounter between Kitaro the vagrant and Daenys D. Seastar on the streets of Loguetown, both aware of each other but both distanced from one another aside from growing up in the same area. But it was something magic for the both of them. Daenys D. Seastar was everything that Kitaro had been looking for in someone that he would want to be with him for the rest of his life. She was someone who actually possessed a name that he could adopt when the two married, which they were waiting for the perfect moment for. Something else that Kitaro was proud of as it allowed for the two to spend time together, to simply enjoy one another's company. Marriage stopped meaning anything to Kitaro and he simply enjoyed their time, it was something to have a purpose with in life, it was a family that he was able to enjoy, even if it was just the two of them. She continued to surprise him throughout the next three years. She was dedicated to set out to sea and Kitaro had always felt called but never had the means, but together they seemed and felt able to accomplish anything. The two set out together and formed a pirate crew together and ran it together, sailing East Blue and being fairly non-violent but establishing their names as pirates. This was the happiest times of Kitaro's life and nothing else mattered to him except their future together.
This was only amplified in ways that he had not been able to predict when she became pregnant. This was when the freedoms that had originally brought her to appreciate him in the way that he fell for her, exchanged for a family life that they agreed to leave the sea to raise their child together. Their love never stronger. Nine months later, Daenys D. Seastar gave birth to their child, Marco D. Seastar and the two of them took out to sea in a much more peaceful way. To give their child a chance to experience the world and the two protected him fiercely. The next few years was of them sailing and learning how to sail farther and farther while taking care of Marco, making sure that he was raised in a worldly way. The three of them shared many great experiences together and became a family in a way that Kitaro had never thought himself capable of. The experience changed him and his views on the world, nothing was more important than keeping Daenys and Marco safe to him and his own life seemed to matter less and less in a way that made him happier every day.
However, after they had spent four years more traveling in this way, being pirates in the name of being free, they stopped at Drum Beat Archipelago to gather supplies for their next voyage that would likely be one of their longest yet. Marco decided he wanted to see some of the fancier and higher class people of the world and ran off, ignoring his sea legs and his parents calls and directly into and at a Celestial Dragon. The little boy, Marco, bumped directly into the Celestial Dragon before both of their eyes and the two immediately took off running. while the two were rushing their fastest to retrieve their son and make their way off of the Archipelago, The World Noble said some words and some men appeared seemingly out of nowhere at speeds neither of the two of them had ever seen and put a collar on the boy, the noble danced and laughed and as the two approached the noble and his party turned without so much as a glance, without so much as letting Marco glance back, and carried him away.
Kitaro's heart sank and he wanted to attack them, his first impression was that if he could manage to cut the Celestial Dragon they would learn that they can't claim slaves of any boy that crosses their path, any child. However, Daenys scream caught him off guard, he could hear in her voice the world shattering around her and he stopped. The scream stopped his body, his soul, his heart itself and as soon as the sound had passed, a sound that Kitaro had never heard before or sine, she began a mad dash to recover their son. Kitaro realized then what he would have accomplished if he had reacted and attacked, his own death, and seeing Daenys make the same move he knew that he had to stop her to avoid all three of them dying on Drum Beat Archipelago that day.
So Kitaro held her back, tears rushing down her face as some fell from his own, Kitaro held her still while she cried and struggled to reach their son, and Kitaro watched as he faded away into the distance, holding onto her for what felt like hours afterward until Daenys brought him back to his senses. Demanding a vow be made because of what had transpired here. So the two of them vowed to each other, on their love, on their family, and on their lives that they would take down the system, save their son, and stop this from happening to any other family ever again or die in the process. And as the solemn oath was taken, the two cast out of Drum Beat Achipelago to follow their goals. Kitaro's mind broken to shards at what he had, had to keep down. Trying to manage his own mind and keep his love safe from herself and the world.
