| Full Name: Tatakai, Sumomo Alias/Epithet:N/A Age: 19 Gender: Female Race: Human Sexuality: Bi Origin: North Blue Affiliation: Pirate General Appearance: She also has Pink variations of both her top and bottoms, but those are more casual. As well, she has more formal attire in the form of a pink Kimono. Her lower lip is chewed up. Hair Color: Natural Brunette, though she dyes it pink Eye Color: Brown normally, but with pink contacts. Skin Tone: Pale Height: 5 foot 7 Weight: 150(mostly muscle) Tattoo: N/A Personality:Sumomo is by nature, Energetic and head strong. She's friendly and kind and always has a need to go. While she loves the freedom that a pirate gives her, she hates being cooped up on a boat for weeks on end, so she has a tendency to get into peoples hair a whole bunch. She doesn't mean to disturb those around her, she can't help it; she just has too much of a need to go. If she bugs enough people, she may change tactics and instead of bugging people to burn energy, she'll practice her martial arts. She starts with her more smooth and elegant ones as a warm up, before going into her more physically intensive speed based techniques and stances. Sumomo is, surprisingly, a very good shipwright. She loves working with boats, though not as much as with her Martial Arts. She can repair a boat quickly and well, even on the water. One of her goals is to make a boat big enough to hold boats the size of the Marines War Ships. Sumomo has a mix of both an abundance of confidence and not enough at the same time. She is overconfident in the skills she has already established, like her Martial Arts and Shipwrightness however, when it comes to almost anything else she will tear herself apart over the slightest mistake. To top it all off, Sumomo is wise beyond her years though she doesn’t really know it, and anyone who tells her such she will swear up and down against it. Personality Quirks: Sumomo will bite her lip whenever she’s nervous, and as a result, her lower lip looks chewed up. Likes: Martial Arts, Boats, good company, moving, eating, fighting Dislikes: Marines, being still for too long(unless it involves martial arts), formal events, penalties on herself, doing something new and being really bad at it. Motivations: Create the largest boat ever seen, big enough to hold multiple warships that can be deployed. Fears: Drowning, losing a limb, being lost at sea Home Town: Turtle Island Character History:- History:
From a young age, Sumomo was granted freedom every kid was envious of. Her parents never gave her freedom that every kid was envious of. She was free to run around as much as she wanted, granted she didn’t cause too much mischief and make anyone angry. This wasn’t too much of an issue either, as most people in town really liked her. When she did get in trouble, she was made to stay in her room all day and it drove her up the wall.
When she was about ten years old, an elderly man moved to her island. He lived alone on the highest hill top and would make a journey to the town every day for groceries. Sumomo would see him struggle down the stairs every day, when she finally decided she had enough. On his first trip, she ran up to him and snatched his groceries, and ran them to his house. Once there, she put them down, ran back, picked him up- though more carefully- and bound up the stairs as fast as she could. The exertion left her breathless, but she smiled as she knew she reduced the man’s time easily to half of what it normally would be.
The man, once he had gathered his belongings, opened the door and let her in. Sumomo smiled and walked in, to see a simple home, with a couch and some decorations, with a hatch going downwards. Sumomo was going to ask what it was when the man offered her some tea.So to not be rude, she accepted and began to talk. The man couldn’t help but see her jitter and asked her what her dreams were.
She shrugged at this, not having any real idea at the moment. All she knew is she wanted to travel all of the blues and see the world! When asked about the Grand Line, she shook her head, saying she wasn’t strong.
The man explained to her his dream. Or rather, his dream that died on the grand line. He told her the story of how his crew as a pirate had died at sea, with him the only survivor. He was a shipwright and a martial artist. He had poured his heart out to her.
Sumomo took in all he said, listening intently to every word he said. At the end of it, She asked him one simple sentence, though no simple task; teach me. She wished to become the greatest shipwright to ever sail a boat and to become a martial arts master to honor his legacy. The man paused, and before he could respond she held out her hand and stated her name as Tatakai Sumomo.
The man was overwhelmed, though refused to give his name at the moment. For the time being, she could call him Gangplank; like the one on the boat. She nodded, and she was sent home, to return in the morning.
For the next seven years, she trained her heart out. She had become adept at several different styles of combat, as well as learning the basics of building boats. She knew she had a long way to go, but she was determined. One day, however, things changed for her. Marines had caught wind of how she had been planning to become a pirate, and took her away. Her teacher tried to save her but was ultimately pushed aside.
For the next few months, Sumomo was in a Marine prison somewhere in the blues. She did not know where, sadly, but she was determined to escape from a punishment for a crime she had yet to commit. So she devised a plan. It wasn’t a very good plan; it was really just beat up every Marine she saw until she got out.
However, despite such a suicidal plan normally killing her, it was the key to her salvation. The Day she attempted it, their staff was at an all time low; most of the guards were sick and almost all who were there were the lazy ones. So, she made her escape. When moving to her cell, she flipped the nearest guard and threw it at another, and ran yelling riot to all those still out of their cells. The prisoners yelled back with joy as they began to fight their way out.
Sumomo grabbed a small boat and sailed as far away as she could. For the next few years, she trained herself, both in the body and in boat making. She would patch up her little dingy until it couldn’t sail again, then make another out of trees from the island she was on. From there, she would continue the process. Eventually, she made it home. The town had changed, though for the better; the town had grown bigger, and her parents were excited to see her.
However, a bigger island meant an actual Marine base on it, though it was a smaller one. She had to act quick before she was found out, and stowed away in her teachers home. He was happy to see her, and she stayed in his cellar, where he taught her how to build boats. To this day she remains there, training her body for her eventual leaving of this island, and to follow her dream of making the largest boat of all time.
