| Full Name: Uri Arina Calypso Alias/Epithet: Age: Twenty Gender: Female Race: Winged Sexuality: Aromantic Asexual Origin: Grand Line Affiliation: Pirate General Appearance: While widely, Uri's appearances stay the same she generally has two appearances. The first is her casual, how she typically looks when not in danger or in formal events etc. The second picture is her battle appearance, in which she tucks her hair into her clothes to give it a shorter appearance and wears a butterfly mask to hide most of her face. - Normal:
- Combat:
Hair Color: Dark Blue Eye Color: Blue Skin Tone: Pale Height: 5'9" Weight: 173lbs Tattoo: N/A Personality: From a young age, Uri works by logic rather than intuition, always studying what is around her to reach conclusions. Common sense is her primary weapon in life, acting upon her memories and mistakes in an effort to avoid them in the future. Due to this, Uri is very analytical, always thinking something through before she acts upon her thoughts. She uses context clues to come up with conclusions in order to get the best results possible. She can be described as calculating, although she is one to keep her thoughts quick and brief so she can act quickly and efficiently. One can even describe her as the exact archetype of "brains over brawn" due to her central focus on her own intel rather than brute strength. Socially, she can be rather awkward. Uri has trouble expressing her feelings towards others, instead of acting very serious even if someone is trying to joke with her. Introverted, she isn't one who would go up to others but rather keep herself in the shadows. While not completely withdrawn, she simply does not feel comfortable around strangers nor does she feel the need to reach out to others whom she does not know. Unsurprisingly, Uri appears to be quite irritable, put off easily by banter or foolish antics. She will no doubt go off onto small tangents when someone irritates her and will not stop until she is either forced to or finished. While there may be others that she may disagree with, Uri holds mutual respect to all. While she may possess higher respect towards some and hold less towards others, she holds at least some respect towards all living beings and treats them kindly, despite how poorly they have treated her. As for her short temper, patience isn't something that exists for her, as she simply doesn't have the time to wait. Perceptiveness is one of her key traits, as she pays close attention towards the landscape around her, taking notice of small details. Noticing changes, even if small, she often will notice details that the unobservant may be unable to see. Uri is not one to tell others of her plans or observations, in fact, is a person who is willing to lie. While she does not feel ashamed to lie, it isn't to say she is a chronic liar. But rather she will lie to keep certain facts a secret rather than simply say she does not wish to share. In general, she does not mind telling the truth and will, in fact, do so. She isn't one who will sugar coat most of her ideas of people and will plainly tell them. Optimism is also one of her key traits, Uri is very optimistic about everything and looks at the good in the future. If something does not go the way she sees, she will cast it aside and continue looking for the good as she believes there is no crying over spilled milk. The only way to truly grow is to accept the past and move to the future. She also holds courage, having a willingness to face her fears to aid herself and others. Some of her ideas are considered risky although she is keen to weigh the pros and cons before acting them out. Her first thoughts are to account for the losses rather than any gains that may happen. But overall, Uri is insecure. Her optimism will apply to everything but herself. She often doubts her abilities, and would not disagree with the notion of being called worthless. While she will often hastily thank compliments, she appears more accepting of insults Personality Quirks: Due to her serious nature, Uri hardly smiles or laughs. She will only smile when she feels joyful about something and laugh when she is in such a mood. Otherwise, it is nearly impossible to see her just smile Likes:
- Heights: Having lived in Skypiea for nearly her entire life, Uri is used to the high altitudes and loves the cool atmosphere of the sky. Plus there is nothing better than a bird's eye view.
- Conache: She understands that this fruit only grows in Skypiea, but she still loves the rich tastes of the juice and the memory that she associates the flavor with.
- Sunlight: Warm beams of light shining down upon her chilled skin and lighting up the world that is so dark. Would there be a reason why Uri wouldn't like sunlight?
Dislikes:
- Storms: There is nothing that can ruin Uri's mood quicker than a simple rainstorm. The winds get crazy, the sea turbulent and worst of all occasionally there is lightning followed by the fleeting sound of thunder. There is nothing Uri hates more than storms
- Slavery: Being a part of a race which is often used as slaves, Uri has a poor view of such practice. Nobody, no matter who they are should be forced to do labor against one's will.
- Fighting: Despite knowing that this will be inevitable Uri does not like fighting against another living being. She will still fight regardless, but Uri will not enjoy the thrill of battle that most do.
Motivations:
- Search: Uri's current goal in her life is to find her father. After he had left upon to a trip to the new world many years ago, he has yet to turn. Now Uri wants to know what happened to him and learns if he is still alive.
Fears:
- Ocean Bottom: Uri is afraid of what lies beneath the waves of the sea. Countless vicious monsters, sea kings just waiting to strike and much more are few of the monsters she suspects to be underneath the waves.
- Thunder: While not afraid of lightning, Uri is afraid of the sudden and loud clap of thunder due to its unpredictable nature. It is her worst nightmare to be caught in a thunderstorm
- Dying: A cliche fear that pretty much everyone possesses, however, she wants to live to fulfill her dreams. If she had to die,
she would want to die to die on her own terms. Dying on another's terms is one of her worst fears.
Home Town: Skypiea Character History: - History:
All her life Uri knew nothing but poverty. Her family was never rich to begin with, being part of the lower class in Skypiea. While it may have been worse be part of the lower class elsewhere, her family was still hardly able to support themselves. Her mother was constantly bedridden due to an illness that she had contracted shortly after Uri's birth. The only time she had ever seen her mother leave the bed was too close the door of her room until she was unable to even do such a mundane activity. Her father was a retired swordsman in the army due to an injury he gained in a duel against one of his rivals. He had trouble finding a career both due to his injury and lack of experience. While he did possess some knowledge of the medical field, it was nothing compared to what the village doctor knew. Uri also had an older brother who tried to care for the family, only being able to with small odd jobs and eventually larger scale careers but even the money he gained was barely able to support the family. And thus the entire family lived in poverty for several years.
Her father would suddenly find himself recruited in a pirate crew who was searching for someone with medical knowledge and became their doctor. Due to his career now as a doctor, he would leave for months at a time before returning home with some of the treasure his crew either found or stole. The money he brought home was a life saver for Uri and her family who used the money to buy food, cleaning necessities and any other items they would need. Throughout her life, she idolized her father, the one who faced dangers just to bring home enough money to feed his family. She had always tried to join the Pirate Crew with her father, only to be turned away due to her age and lack of experience. Despite the dangers, Uri truly wanted to become a Pirate.
Uri's life in Skypiea was rather calm. She was well respected within the village as she would take care of her mother while also taking odd jobs with her brother around the village to get money, often getting little sorts of rewards along with money. Eventually, she would have to work alone due to the fact her brother joined the Skypiean army in order to help support them even further. Due to her mother's illness, Uri began to study along the village doctor so she would learn how to care for her mother better. But immediately, she found herself immersed in the medical world with all its wonders until she decided to forsaken her dream of becoming a pirate and desired to be a doctor.
It was around her twelfth birthday when her life began to take a turn. Her father had returned home for one final time, pockets full of riches, where he bonded with his family for two weeks like he would always do when he returned, before heading back to sea. This time, he would never return. Uri kept holding onto the false hope that he would, only to be disappointed as the years passed by. Her brother was sent away to a different island as part of his duty as a soldier and would hardly come back to visit or care for his family, causing some bitter resentment within Uri. Worst of all her mother's health began to worsen and using her medical knowledge Uri tried to care for her but to no avail. Finally, after her eighteenth birthday, her mother passed away leaving Uri utterly alone in this world.
Her brother would return from his duty in the army, however, injured just like her father once was. He was no longer able to serve in the army and the family lost the one way they could provide for each other. Uri, while she had possessed some ill feeling for her brother before, now truly hated her brother after this. She would refuse to talk to him, and leave him to care for himself.
She was simply broken at this point of her life, unsure of what to do. The only family she had left at this point was her brother and she despised him. Feeling pity, the doctor allowed her to move in with him so she could focus more on her studies rather than any financial issues she faced at this point. Burying herself in work, she refused to feel anything about her current situation. But through the two years she worked with the doctor, her emotions changed.
Uri understood her mother had been sick for so many years, and that the chances that she would recover were nonexistent. She felt happy that she had finally been able to recover from her pain. She accepted that her father wasn't coming back. It had been six years and the chances that he would be coming soon were slim. She refused to believe that he was dead, but rather stuck somewhere. Finally, Uri found her hatred for her brother disappearing as he was unable to control his situation in the army. One day she visited him who was able to survive on odd jobs like he used to be able to and began to reconcile their relationship although she continued to live with the doctor.
As two years passed by, Uri found her childhood dream of becoming a pirate once again surfacing. Understanding the dangers presented by such the task, she asked her brother to teach her some sword fighting techniques which he reluctantly accepted. He did not know of her intention to become a pirate once more, rather simply believing she wanted to join the army as the medic so he complied. While it was difficult at first, finally Uri began to get some basic techniques.
Around sometime in her twentieth year, Uri left her village. She went to the nearby docks and hid in a cargo ship heading towards the blues. She left without a word so that she would not worry her brother or the doctor to the point they would prevent her from leaving. This was her goal now: become a pirate and see what happened to her father. This would be the beginning of her adventure Face Claim: Fire Emblem Awakening: Lucina Voice Claim: Same as above | |
